Lakeview Community Church Announcements – Sunday, November 23, 2025

  • Thank you to Kevin Griffith and Jilli Walch for providing the music for today’s worship service.

    Thank you to Dan Seklar and Ann Dieckman for hosting today’s Coffee Hour.  Everyone is invited to the Fellowship Hall for cake and coffee to celebrate the
    birthdays of Pastors Rick and Rose.

    Greece Ecumenical Food Shelf – The GEFS focus for November is rice, pasta mixes, and salad dressings. These are small items and easy to add to your grocery lists.  December Focus Items:  Cereal and Canned Fruits.

    Bottles and Cans – Rob McCulloch collects “clean” bottles and cans for Mission Share throughout 2025.  Nov/Dec monthly focus items continue to be pasta of any kind, canned fruit of any kind, and toiletries.  Thank you, everyone, for your help.

    2026 Calendars – 2026 Church Calendars are available on the table in the narthex to anyone who would like one.

    Floors Cleaned – Floors in the Fellowship Hall and kitchen will be stripped and waxed on Monday, Nov. 24, beginning at 10:00 AM, continuing through the rest of the day and evening for drying.

    Christmas Creche – The nativity scene will be installed on the front lawn of Lakeview on Saturday, Nov. 29, 10 AM to 12 PM. Volunteers are welcome!  Notify Bill Foster if you can join us.

    Consistory Mini-Minutes – The Lakeview Consistory met on Monday, Nov. 17.
    1. Patty DeLuzio led devotions. Proverbs 16:9 – “In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.”
    2. We finalized the 2026 Annual Budget that will be presented at our Annual Congregational Meeting on Dec. 5.
    3. We considered the upcoming Advent season, including a Bible study, sermon series, as well as Advent readings & candle lighting.
    4. We reviewed different options available as churches make the transition to middle assemblies in 2026.
    5. We approved taking an offering at the Christmas Eve service for the Benevolent Fund.

    Annual Congregational Meeting – Friday, Dec. 5, Potluck Meal at 5:30 PM, Meeting at 6:30 PM in the Fellowship Hall. During the annual meeting, we will
    elect one elder and one deacon.  Consistory Nominee: Becky Hibbard for Elder.  Thank you, Becky, for graciously accepting this calling.  Another Lakeview
    member is considering a nomination for Deacon.

    Advent Devotionals and Calendars are available in the Narthex.  Advent begins next Sunday.  Children’s calendars are available, as well.  Parents
    and grandparents, please feel free to pick them up for your kids and grandkids.

    Bible Study – Pastor Rick & Rose plan to lead a small group in December on Mondays at 10:30 AM in the former Library room. The four sessions start on
    Dec. 1 and end on Dec. 22. The material is The Case for Christmas by Lee Strobel. If interested, let Pastor Rose or Pastor Rick know (radmiraal44@gmail.com).

    Christmas Caroling – Our congregation is invited to join Outreach in some Christmas caroling. We are scheduled to go to Legacy/Willow Village on Sunday, Dec. 14 at 3 PM. After caroling, the home will provide refreshments and a time to socialize with the residents. Please see the sign-up sheet on Pastor Rick’s door.

                                                Flowers in the Sanctuary this morning are given by Linda Viney in honor of Joan Marvin’s birthday.
