A N N O U N C E M E N T S for Sunday, August 9, 2026…
Bible Study – New Adult Bible Study began today at 9:00 AM; and will meet each Sunday in the LCC Conference Room. See Mat Wolf for info.
Greece Ecumenical Food Shelf – Our 17th annual “August Challenge” was officially announced on July 26. This August we have been challenged to collect 2,000 pouches, or boxes, of RICE AND PASTA MIXES. Our small church will need your help to meet this lofty goal! On August 29 (last Saturday of this month), we will hold our “Drive-In and Drop-Off” at church from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. You don’t even need to get out of your car—and we will also thank you with a cup of coffee and a doughnut! We hope you will join in this exciting challenge that is such a blessing to our lakeshore neighbors. ~Joan Marvin & Linda Viney
Coffee Hour – Thank you, Patty DeLuzio, for hosting today’s coffee hour.
Bottles and Cans – Rob McCulloch is still collecting “clean” bottles and cans for the Mission Share Outreach Center throughout 2026. Focus items continue to be pasta of any kind, canned fruit of any kind, and toiletries.
75th Anniversary Celebration Meeting – Thursday, Aug. 13, 6:30 PM, Founders’ Room. Contact Becky Hibbard with your ideas. A display of names of those who have been baptized at Lakeview is planned. If you have a picture of someone baptized at Lakeview, please give the picture (with the name, date of the baptism, and the minister’s name) to Betsy Leipold. Take a picture of your picture and email betsy.leipold@outlook.com or, drop off your picture at the church office by August 31.
JOIN US to learn about loving our neighbor. We are on Chapter 8 of “Welcoming the Stranger” and will meet Tuesday, August 11, at 6:30 PM. If you have any questions, contact Pastor Rose at 641-204-1953.
Praise Team – Next Praise Team practice is scheduled for Thursday, August 20, 6:00 PM, in the Sanctuary.
Juliet Ladies’ Luncheon – Next luncheon scheduled for Friday, Aug. 28, 12:30 PM. Place to be determined. Sign-up sheet will be placed in Fellowship Hall.
Sound System Upgrade – Look for fundraisers in the coming weeks. You can make donations to Lakeview (write “sound system” on the memo line).
“Blood Drive” at Lakeview on Saturday, Aug. 29, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Please consider donating blood if you are able. ALL blood types are in short supply! Sign up online at Redcrossblood.org, by phone (1-800-RED-CROSS), or call/text Becky Hibbard at 506-2449. Thank you!
NEEDED: Children’s worship teachers and helpers. Please contact Pastor Rose. Background checks will be needed ahead of time.
Outreach Committee will again host a hotdog lunch at the Long Shore Apartments on Saturday, Aug. 22. We could use your help with some items: Water bottles, soda, individual bags of chips, homemade cookies, or brownies. See sign-up sheet in the Fellowship Hall or contact Pastor Rose. Thank you for your help! All items should be at church by Wednesday, August 19.
“Lakeviewer” – Articles for the September-October newsletter are due on Sunday, August 16. As always, pictures of church and family events are always welcome.
