As usual, our “August Focus Item” will be a secret until the announcement of our annual “August Challenge.” Please start saving your medium-sized boxes. We will need a lot of boxes to pack our donations in for delivery to the Food Shelf. Boxes can be placed in the last Sunday School room on the left side of the corridor off the Fellowship Hall. Clues to the item we will be collecting will be posted each week in July near our big baskets and on this web page. By mid-July, you will probably be able to guess what that item will be.

As a small church we need the help of our extended families, neighbors, co-workers, and friends. Please help spread the word.
In past years, we have had a great response from our lakeshore neighborhood. Besides shopping, other ways to help with the August Challenge are to volunteer to be here on the last Saturday of the month for our “drive in/drop off” and to greet neighbors with coffee and doughnuts, or to help pack and load trucks for the special delivery to the Maiden Lane facility after the final tally. Please plan to participate in Lakeview’s largest mission project and neighborhood outreach of the year with a giving spirit and cheerful attitude. Be thankful that we are able to make such a positive difference in the lives of so many; and be sure and watch for those clues during July!
